Field & Stream Writes: "Winnipesaukee is New Hampshire’s largest lake, with world-class small-mouth fishing. Landlocked salmon and lake trout are also abundant. How odd, then, that the state has no public-access area on the lake for the launching and parking of boat and their trailers. This is a real pain, which you can avoid by staying at the lakefront Yacht Club portion of the large Windrifter Resort.
 
Moor your boat at their dock and park your trailer at the main resort. Then you can walk to local restaurants before hopping into your craft for a day’s fishing. The village of Wolfeboro here is the epitome of New England white-clapboard quaintness. Nonfishing spouses love it. My own spouse, not especially quaint, would rather go fishing."
